iPhone 6 Release Date Set for 9th September

Apple seems all set to launch the iPhone 6 by September 9th, according to many leading publications. There has been a flood of rumors on what the new product may or may not feature while fans anxiously await the arrival of Apple’s latest release.

After months of waiting and praying, Apple fans may finally have some good news. According to leading technology journalist and notable Apple observer, John Paczkowski, Apple is likely to release the iPhone 6 on September 9! While Apple has yet to confirm this as the official launch of the iPhone 6, many experts agree that the 9th a good guess as to the launch date.

This expectation is given solid credibility by Apple Inc. having booked a big media event on September, 9th. The Californian manufacturer is expected to offer the new iPhone 6 in 2 categories, one with a 4.7-inch screen and the other with a 5.5-inch one. Let’s go over what the iPhone 6 is expected to bring to the table.

iOS8

The biggest new feature of the new phone is quite obviously the inclusion of iOS 8 operating system that is set to provide the smartphone with a burst of new features. These include a new and improved HealthKit application, increased inter-connectivity between Apple devices, more APIs, and many more features.

The new operating system is also set to provide a boost of performance to the iPhone 6 thanks to Apple’s new coding language, Swift. Apple has assured developers that the new coding language will work in combination with the older Objective C language.

13-MP Camera

Apple may have finally decided to upgrade its camera, abandoning the standard 8-megapixel camera for a 13-MP camera. While there has not been any official confirmation of this rumor, reports so far suggest it is a likely possibility. If this theory does prove to hold true, iPhone fans can now look forward to further improvements in the already impressive photo quality.

Sapphire Display from GT Advanced

Apple is also expected to abandon the now standard Gorilla Glass display in favor of the very tough Sapphire Display. Again, this is extremely good news for seasoned Apple fans as scratched and cracked iPhone screens have been far too common in the past. Apparently the Sapphire displays can withstand everything from scratches by fingernails to hard jabs from knives! Here’s to hoping for an end to cracked screens caused by dropping your iPhones.

On a contrary note, popular technology publication, VentureBeat seems to think that the new iPhone 6 will NOT offer the Sapphire display. While this may seem disappointing to iPhone fans, it is still unclear as to what kind of display the iPhone 6 may or may not offer.

A8 Processor

Given that the new iPhone 6 is going to be powered by iOS8, it seems only sensible to add a faster processor that keeps up with the new operating system’s speed. The handset is expected by many to feature a dual core 2.0GHz A8 processor to enable the iPhone 6 to function well with the new operating system.

Stronger Chassis

Yes, you read that correctly. If the several leaked images of the iPhone 6 prototype are to b believed, the new smartphone will come with an aluminum body as opposed to the current glass body frame. If this proves to be true, the fans can look forward to increased durability given the combination of Sapphire display and an aluminum body.

Conclusion

So, to sum up, the new iPhone 6 will possibly feature a new display, a faster processor, a new operating system, a stronger aluminum chassis and a 13-MP camera. There is also rumor of the iPhone 6 utilizing NFC (near field communication) technology but this seems for the most part a far-fetched assumption since Apple has hardly shown any interest in the technology in relation to their iPhone products.
