Apple is definitely a royal platform where every app developer would want to get recognized. The system of Apple mostly works, but there sometimes arise reasons that results in rejection of apps from the app store. Let’s find out what are they.

The technological insight of Apple is renowned worldwide, and is recognized for its uniqueness and efficiency. 2014 was quite a heavy year for the developers as Apple ended the year by rejecting more than million apps, which exhibits its strictness towards filtering the qualitative outcomes.

This rejection has been faced by many developers, and will be faced in future if few elements will not be taken into consideration. The most stressful situation for every app developer is to get his app approved by the concrete norms and conditions of Apple. Although, Apple has a set standard of guidelines, here are some reasons which can even then drag any app in the category of being rejected. Take a look.

1. Inappropriate Usage of Buttons and Icons

There are many UI issues that have also become a reason in the rejection of the apps even if they do not have any connection with the functionality and performance. Make sure to use a standard UIButtonBarSystemItem along with uniformity in functionality and appearance of buttons and icons.

2. Long Loading Time

In iOS the maximum time for the app startup is 15 seconds, but in cases of slow hardware connection and network it may take time to process. Hence, it is advisable to not depend wholly on the iOS simulator, always test your app initially on the actual hardware. The running time of your app is your first chance to impress the users. All the operating systems enforce a maximum app run time, and if the app doesn’t work within that limit, the operating system kills it.

3. Never Mention Other Supported Platforms

Never mention that your app supports other platforms as well. None of the app marketplace would like to see their rival platforms by names in the apps which are in the selection procedure with them. Instead, you can show it on your website.

4. Inadequate Information

If you want to smoothly pass the Apple test, then thoroughly and precisely, be “Apple”. Apple does not like to leave any check box unchecked. The absence of essential details for testing, contact information, demo account information, invalid username, etc. will drag you straight in the category of rejection.

5. High Number of Bugs and Crashes

For effortlessly passing the criteria and conditions of Apple, it is suggested by the Apple developers only that you thoroughly test the app first before submitting to avoid app failure.

6. Misuse of Trademarks and Logos

Always avoid using any patent, trademarks and logos in your app or product images even if they are of Apple. It has also been seen that some of the apps gets rejected on the basis of logos and trademarks.

7. Similar or Copied App

If you are trying to make clones of a number of apps and submit the heap to Apple; it will certainly take you nowhere, and will let you face a big fat rejection.

8. Unrelated Meta Descriptions and Meta Tags

Few apps are rejected on the basis of irrelevant names, screenshots, descriptions, which are essential for the proper identity of the app. Similarly, few apps are also rejected on the fraudulent, misleading, and false contents and icons exhibited on the apps.

It is certainly quite a challenge for building a million dollar app, and then getting it passed through the Apple store test. However, if your app gets rejected, do not panic, you can resubmit it after addressing to the issues. Moreover, always first remember to read the submission guidelines of Apple carefully, so that you succeed in the first go.
