Client Requirement:

The main objective of the website is to build the search portal especially for the Norwegian companies with search engine optimized feature. The website should be incorporated by the proper Google map integration and provide the route planner for the end users. The site will be featured by the appropriate security to the personal account of the member so that he should set the priorities accordingly. SMS feature, calendar maintenance, reminders, to do list etc will be the part of its requirement. Google Map Integration will be facilitated in the site to provide ease for the users of the site in searching.

Challenges:

To develop a healthy platform for the website with the feature that manages several users at the same time without slowing the site down. Browser optimization and query optimization is another challenge with implementation of the web 2.0 technology. One of the main requirements is to beat the other similar already existing sites. Big challenge is to display the information on different links after fetching the data from the database. Another challenge is to implement the auto intellisense which provides an array of options that make language references easily accessible.

Technologies Used:
ASP.NET 1.1/2.0/3.5 Technology for server-side scripting and a powerful tool for creating dynamic and interactive web pages. Upgraded version used here is dot net 3.5.
SQL Server 2005/08 Versatile, scalable, secure and low-maintenance DBMS. Fast support for managing XML data, in addition to relational data. Also includes support for structured and semi-structured data, including digital media formats for pictures, audio, video and other multimedia data.
JavaScript It is the scripting language of the Web; used in millions of web pages to add functionality, validate forms, detect browser and much more.
Ajax Asynchronous JavaScript and XML. AJAX is a technique for creating fast and dynamic web pages. Examples of applications using AJAX: Google Maps, Gmail, YouTube, and Face book tabs.

Let’s work out - Planning:

With prior familiarity in developing full-fledged community portals, Konstant followed a three-layered approach towards growth and development of the project, starting with:

  • Database Layer containing the tables and stored procedures.
  • Data Access layer containing the libraries responsible for accessing data from database.
  • Business Logic Layer consisting of all business logic procedures for different modules of the application.
Architecture:

Three-tier architecture is used in the application as the site was the search portal with plenty of widespread features. The major disjunctive layers are application layer, business layer and data layer. Other modules are developed in dot net and executed directly from the UI layer including the business logic for the respective modules. Data libraries are used for accessing the database with the help of queries. Stored procedures were used only for complex retrieval of data from multiple tables.

Development Highlights:

As the application was targeted as a trade portal with focus on information to business within the professional, construction and transportation industries which were dealt with all operating companies in Norway. The goal of the application will be the search tool for anyone who wants information about businesses in Norway. It was totally built in ASP.Net technology which is assumed to be quite secure for the security purpose of the application. The application is totally SEO optimized and 100 % ethical, natural, scientific, transparent, semantic and white hat. Meta tag optimization is used in the application. Root search, people search, map search and web search make the application full of features.
