How to Find UDID (Unique Identifier) of Your iPhone?

A UDID is a unique identifier that Apple associates to a device; just in the same was as IMEI numbers are attached to Android Phones. Every iphone device (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch) comes with a 40 character alphanumeric string along with a 24 character identifier with a dash after 8 digit, this makes every device unique.

Knowing UDID helps people with disabilities as they do not tend to remember the numbers or keep multiple copies of documents, as the card will capture and then has to be decoded with the help of a reader.

How to find your UDID number (iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and earlier versions)

  1. Launch iTunes and connect your iPad iPhone,or iPod (device)

  2. Under devices Click on your device

    click on your device

  3. Next click on serial number

    click on the ‘Serial Number’ 
    click on the serial number

  4. This should change the serial number into UDID

    change the Serial Number into the UDID

  5. Choose edit and then Copy from the ITunes menu.

  6. Paste into your Email and you should see the UDID in your email message

How to find UDID in iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, iPhone XS?

  1. Connect your iPhone to MAC device
  2. Navigate to ‘About this MAC’
  3. Click on system report and select USB
  4. Select iPhone
  5. Copy the value next to the serial number label
  6. Paste the value copied in step 5 above
  7. Add a dash after the 8th digit and this is your UDID.
