Website provides the platform for the cooks to promote their business by becoming the member of the site, upload the video for the recipes they prepare and photos. Members can share their views about the cuisine and different types of foods available at the site; they can rate for the cooks, vote for the cooks, add them as favorite and can leave a message for them. Face book connect, social media bookmarking etc make the application available to all the visitors of the community websites.

The main objective of the website is to build the social community and network website especially for the cooks, who wants to share their recipes over it and by this anyone can avail the facilities of these cooks. The site will be featured by the search functionality which is based on the options like city and food. The site will be incorporated by the features such as reviews and ratings by which the registered members can rate and vote for the particular cook. Google Map Integration will be facilitated in the site to provide ease for the users of the site in searching. The site will promote cooks to stay active in the community by providing them Upload functionality for photos and videos.

Challenges:
  • Developing a platform for the cooks capable of storing the data for the cooks and providing the functionality for the users by which they can easily find out the specific cook and their recipes and can get avail the facility.
  • Developing and incorporating an extensive list of profile customization options, complex ranking systems and voting contests designed for enhancing users' active participation.
  • Browser optimization and query optimization is another challenge with implementation of the web 2.0 technology.

The website also features the word press blog and Google Map and it was planned to make its effective implementation.

Architecture:

PHP formed the basis of development as the site was a community portal with extensive features as it was the new concept in the market. Other modules are developed in PHP and executed directly from the UI layer including the business logic for the respective modules. Data libraries are used for accessing the database with the help of queries. Stored procedures were used only for complex retrieval of data.
