Release of iOS 10

Craig Federighi, Apple’s senior vice president of Software Engineering called iOS 10 “the biggest iOS release for users ever”.

Update takes off but landed on developer’s platform only, but soon going to be available for users by this fall.

Overhaul design of Lock Screen – Apple has redesigned few features to give better user experience in which the design of lock screen has overhauled, so the users can get more information, easy access to the camera, and a new widgets screen. Notifications upgraded with the touch of 3D technology.

Siri opens its gate to welcome third party apps – Developers jaws got dropped when people hear the announcement of “Opening up Siri for third party developers.” Apple wants to spread the Siri’s voice to the third party – announcement is to let developers integrate Siri’s functionalities into their apps to make it more convenient for users to jump into third party services just by saying ‘Hey Siri…”

Apple redoes the design of its Music Player – Apple knows the madness about its music player in users’ hearts, so they decided to overhaul it to add more worth in Apple’s music player.

Eddy Cue, Vice President of Apple, said that “Music has been redesigned to make “music King” which, I think, is marketing spiel for a nicer, easier to use design.”

The aim of redesign is to give a simpler look and focus on the features used in everyday life music related activities. Users can find music curated by Apple’s music editors and read the lyrics of songs as well. Apple wants to add Spotify in its “Discovery mix” that can be customized as per the user’s choice.

Extended the limit of Apple Pay to The Web – One more top-notch update by Apple is enabling Apple Pay on web because they want to spare you from the annoyance of filling out the payment. Apple Pay on the web eliminates the hurdle of making purchases and payment through particular app or payment option, now users can pay the purchases made on the web with Apple Pay. Payment is authenticated through a user’s touch ID or on Apple Watch.

Special focus on Messaging app – One update is purely dedicated to Android users for making iMessage app available for them.

In redesigning of iMessage, app upgraded with bigger emoji and users will get suggestions if they want to transform certain keywords into emoji.

Time to get rid of the problems of sharing songs to your loved ones, the update says “share songs directly from Apple music and write notes through finger tips.”

Some animated effects added to iMessage apps like strobe lights, balloons, and confetti. Invisible Ink, yes you read it right, Invisible Ink is like icing on the cake in messaging app, where users can hide messages until they’re swiped over. iMessage is turning into some Snapchat-WhatsApp-Facebook Messenger conglomerate.

VoIP integration into the phone application of Apple devices

Even I feel great after getting this update that now you don’t need to dive into VoIP apps like Skype or WhatsApp, no more notification, no crappier things. These apps directly connect your calls with phone application just like a standard incoming call.

All your home items will be in HomeKit

Apple is creating a hub for keeping all of your HomeKit device apps like auto alarms, smart lighting system, automatic temperature controllers, etc.

iOS 10 will now feature voicemail transcription, which will automatically transcribe voicemails and offer them up like texts.

Security is always the best part of Apple devices, and now you can use iWatch to make secure entry into the iMac.
