The “First” Saturday Wall: Fun, Enjoy, Celebrate and Work

Q: Why should you read this excerpt?

A: For one/more of these reasons:

  • Because it’s interesting
  • Because it’s important
  • Because It’s the key to happiness
  • And Positive reinforcement is a procurement management practice that must be encouraged

Procurement accounts for almost 70% of spending for some business. It is as well important to understand that it is vital to help the human capital (across all layers of the organization) strive for greater efficiency. Amongst the best ways to promote success in procurement management are:

The splendid coordination between our visual system, our creative mindset and our motor organs allow us to flirt with ideas while simultaneously laying them down. Without overlooking the importance of trumpeting the success of achieving various milestones, it was time to reflect on what we’ve accomplished, instill a sense of pride and gratitude in the work at the workplace and build momentum for the year ahead. It is an effective way to motivate employees.

Organizational culture is a combination of what you create and what you allow. As a ritual first Saturday’s are marked with fun-filled activities, decorating the workplace, goofing around (pun intended!), building wall of fame (sometimes), trying out laughter yoga (in our closets), create a humor bulletin board (that catches maximum attention), creating a bucket list bulletin board (seldom read!)

We had a combined monsoon-Teej + Independence Day + first Saturday celebration in August 2019. It was marked by the onset of “Umbrella Decoration Activity”. There were 5 participants (maximum) from every team (Mobile Team + Web Service Team + Designer Team + Testing Team + Business Analyst Teams). They had to innovate and merge the concepts of festivals and make their respective teams win. Decorative material was provided and participants were also instructed to bring on their own (according to their idea of decoration). Every team was given 30 minutes to finish up their umbrella and submit to HR. Top three winning teams received their prizes in the cafeteria:

Konstant has turned this into a monthly tradition and encourages people to record their milestones and accomplishments as the month unfolds so they’re ready for next month. Even if you work alone, don’t discount the importance of doing this. Reflecting on and celebrating the positive, and being grateful for the positive accomplishments in your life, is one of the key ways to boost your level of happiness. Never stop having fun!
