What’s all in the iOS 11.0.3 update?

The third update of iOS 11 has been released on Wednesday. As a point update it doesn’t bring major changes or new features but contains several improvements. The update is meant to serve iPhone 5s and above models, iPad Air and above, iPad mini 2 and above. The update also works for iPod Touch 6th Gen. All the compatible devices are informed automatically through the update notification. But, if in any case it misses out to notify, you can trigger it manually by going to Settings > General > Software Update. Here, make sure you have a wi-fi connection and duly take the backup of your device before putting it to update.

Here, if we talk about the size of update, it varies from device to device. This point-release is near about 300 MB and would again be a bit heavier in size for bigger devices and lighter for the smaller ones.

The iOS 11.0.3 primarily resolves around solving the issues pertaining with audio and haptic feedback for iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. It has even served the issue of unresponsive displays with iPhone 6s. This goes for the devices that were not serviced with genuine parts.

As, the new update attempts to offer fixes to issues that are there since the launch of iOS 11, this update fails to address to other peripheral issues faced by users. Among these the major ones are the issues related to shorter battery life and the plenty notifications users get at the time of reboot.

With this seems that the update focuses more on the low hanging fruits and nothing is being done to address issues that are comparatively hard to fix.

With this update, if you are still using iOS 10 you have a lot of new things to go for but if you are upgrading from iOS 11 to iOS 11.0.3 there’s nothing much to look for, not even anything from the security front.

Well, if you sum it up you can see a bit of it coming for users from the update but there’s nothing much for iOS app developers as it won’t make much difference on the development front. But, looking ahead to the major point release, the iOS 11.1 update will have a leap of difference and it should be focusing on comprehensive updates, both in terms of security and utility. And as per the latest rumors, this should mark a fresh start for iOS 11 and of course make a difference count both for users and developers.
