Sometimes all it takes to make the day better is a smile, whether it’s one someone gives to you, or one you share with another. Little acts of kindness can bring a shining smile to someone who has otherwise had a terrible day, and it can change everything that follows. Whether it’s just a simple compliment, a cheeky hello, or a gift of something small to help brighten their day, first weekend activities at Konstant mark the beginning of a brand new month with cheer and hope to accomplish what we have been trying.
But we agree that playing a game, dancing or grooving, singing and acting, is not everyone’s cup of tea. Alternatively, not everyone is willing to join in, and prefer sitting at their desks and completing their pending tasks. We have people who prefer not to indulge, and instead find solace in sitting quietly, in front of their workstation, talk with their co-workers and leave after a day’s work.
Konstant management is aware, and still makes an effort to bring out something for everyone. They follow a practice of one person, one sport. They have made an arrangement in cafeteria so that people can play table tennis, foosball, besides monthly team building and mind boggling games. Also, we coddle into the likes of individual aspirations, giving them surprises based on their preferences. Earlier this year, on Women’s Day, HR’s made an arrangement to involve all female teammates, and made them pick paper slips (with the name of a treat they were winning).
Down the line, there were an array of rare fun activities like drawing/sketching, patriotic video making, selfies with themed attire, poetry, the group acting, patriotic write ups and quotes, patriotic group song, playing patriotic songs via musical instruments, and cubicle decoration.
Further, there was a lavish display of Ganesh Chaturthi Celebration when teams across all verticals pitched in and exuded university in diversity. We called the witty God, with round tummy, long trunk, and huge ears, to us (Avahana) or Pran Pratishtha on first day; we celebrated Shodashopachara on second day, Ganesh Uttar Puja on the third day, and Ganpati Visarjan on the fourth day.
On the same lines we executed a set of activities, including Pictionary and Fire in the mountain games to go with, this time. The session concluded with a lucky wheel spin, wherein (1) Rohit G, and (2) Akshat A. were adjudged as winners.
Konstant trusts their folks and the charm, enthusiasm, perseverance they bring to the forefront. We allow them to breathe, and stay true to their work and to themselves. Only what they are willingly accept can continue to be a part of their lives.
While we make an effort to organize such an event every month, we want our people to feel inclusive and make an equal effort to participate, irrespective of the challenges they are facing at work, on personal front, or even if they find it too easy, not up to mark, or pretty obvious! This podium is open for anyone and everyone who wishes to bring in a dash of creativity, and sprinkle some light hearted fun and laughter, to the bare workspace. Why can’t we dress up for ourselves, why can’t we wear a smile, why can’t we forget everything for that one hour and spend it to gratify and replenish our souls? Naturally, snacks, and drinks are there, but still!
