Are you tired of visiting your doctor or standing in those long queues for appointment? Apple brings an excellent solution for you. After the launch of ResearchKit and iPhone SE, Apple kicks off with its new CareKit.

When you’ve just finished reading and knowing about the new iPhone Special Edition (SE), your favorite tech brand is out with an entirely different concept in mobile apps. Until now, Apple has been loved by many for its feature-rich devices, cutting-edge technology and brilliant apps, but now it’s a whole new set of software tools and templates.

CareKit is a mobile software framework for developers to build health apps. It is an open-source development framework that will help iOS experts to build healthcare and fitness apps compatible with the iPhone operating system. Edging towards making this world a better place to live, Apple has been a though-leader when it comes to user’s health and medical state. This CareKit can be used by various healthcare groups and startups to create their own apps. The release is indeed a great news for consumers and iPhone users.

Following up the methodology of ResearchKit, this new software for health apps allows developers to access large amounts of data over iOS devices.

Superbly implemented, CareKit integrates patient’s treatment and doctors monitoring process, building a connection between users and caretakers. Developers can choose and include a lot many features from this CareKit that will allow patients to send an image of a wound or a broken eye or an infection to the doctor. Consequently, the doctors through feature-rich health kit monitor symptoms and keep the sufferer on a medication schedule.

“These mobile tools can help people reach their health goals,” said Thomas Goetz of Iodine, a startup that used CareKit in the latest version of its Start app.

CareKit team at Apple, has been working with various startups on diabetes management, depression cure, cardiac attacks and other fatal diseases that are common to today’s public. Though the service was unveiled in March, 2016, CareKit was under wraps until recently when it announced the first three startups that received access to the software. Among them are One Drop, an app for diabetes management; Iodine, a medication management app for people struggling with depression; and Glow, maker of ovulation calculator and fertility calendar app.

Isn’t it simply wow to know that we have dedicated apps for pregnant women and stress-attacked patients?

Further, a multispecialty academic hospital located in Cleveland- Cleveland Clinic is also under progress to build an app (using Apple’s CareKit) for respiratory disorders like asthma, sinus, which will be available in the days to come.

The main aim of the iPhone company is to help doctors, interns, health groups, medical colleges and developers build mobile apps that can better manage patient’s health and set them to the right wellness program and nourishment. CareKit is expected to bring a revolution in personal health management, adding a lot more convenience and ease to patients, doctors and iOS app developers.

There are various ways in which patients can record their poor health symptoms like answering questions to how they are doing presently, what is their eating routine and several others. Apple mentioned that many health centers are dedicatedly working on CareKit apps to bring forth mobile solutions for Parkinson’s disease and other lung and heart disorders.

However, it’s important to note that CareKit features are helpful for patients if they are diligent about recording their data. Doctors and physicians need to match user-generated data with their EMR data in backend system so as to make sure that the data recorded is reliable and thus, make right diagnostic decisions.

Apple’s plans and new releases have always left experts and its fans wanting more. Let’s see what more innovative the iPhone maker has in store for us. We wait to see a new release, but first, we are excited to see how CareKit will make a difference.
