CakePHP growth is certainly on the rise. The new editions encompass security fixes in 3.0.16, 3.1.11 and bug fixes in 3.2.3.

They call it ‘Tastiest of Frameworks,’ CakePHP is an exceptionally helpful and popular PHP framework now for building and developing seamless customized web applications. Having built on MVC architecture, CakePHP provides the advantage of code reuse with simplified and less coding. In our previous article on CakePHP, we have highlighted ‘how the framework is helpful in building a large scale web application?’

The PHP development frameworks are rapidly evolving as CakePHP announces its new versions 3.6.16, 3.1.11 and 3.2.3. The first stable release from  3.2 division (i.e. 3.2.0) was released earlier this year, and after a month only, we now have 3.2.3.

Referring to the advancements in security issues, the PaginatorHelper will now put a check on manipulation of the pagination links. No malignant user could control the URLs to further direct them to any erratic locations.

Moving ahead, CakePHP 3.2.3 encourages rectifying and fixing errors from the last release. Features include:

> Unavailable in 3.2.0 version, developers can now access the camel-backed virtual properties

> Wrapping up of long paths in error pages

> With Date::parseDate(), the timezones will be managed and presented in correct formats

> A method named- Security::randomBytes() is added to wrap different ways so as to receive secure random data

> The method also functions to generate CSRF tokens

> When marshalling the available BelongsToMany records with id attributes, _joinData is no more lost

> DateTimeImmutable  objects can now be correctly sorted using Hash::sort()

In addition to these must-have bug fixes, there are few enhancements in the API documentation of CakePHP. For instance, AuthComponent finder allows to define finder options, Table::find(‘list’)  automatically use the selected lists from two tables, a new method App::shortName()  is added.
