April Monthly Activities @ Konstant

Those with a finite mindset fear surprises. Those with an infinite mindset see opportunity in the unexpected. Keeping this in mind, we rolled out some fun activities to set the month in tandem!

In any organization, disagreement among coworkers is inevitable and, in many cases, healthy. Even questioning the leadership has its place, as long as the discussion is respectful.

The most effective teams and organizations regularly disagree. Still, traditional work cultures have conditioned us to think that everyone should agree with everything, and the ones with any opposing viewpoint are labeled as troublemakers or disruptors. But if everyone’s always agreeing, how do you know what people are thinking?

The worst thing for any company is a leader who surrounds themselves with a sea of yes men or women who agree with everything. To build a great company, you must have some sense of respectful disagreements among your team. As a leader, people will be passionate about their ideas. Even though it can be disheartening to hear a board member, team member, or employee disagree with your idea or strategy, listen to what they have to say.

We need to create safe work cultures that honor differences of opinion. The key is developing the right environment for civil, productive debate to take place and allowing employees to feel safe opening up. No one will ever have all the right answers, and it’s only through conversation, debate, and yes, even argument that those real ideas come out, and better decisions are made.

Upholding this thought, we booked Cafeteria for an hour of fun and relished our monthly team-building activities.

GAMES

Pictionary: The room was divided into two teams of 20 players each. One player from Team A had to pick a chit and sketch the prompt. The person sketching had 1 minute to draw the word without using letters or symbols. If their team guesses the word, they win. Any team wins if they’re the first team to reach the finish square and correctly guess a drawing.

Pictionary

Balloon Race: Two random players were given inflated balloons each. they must hop their balloons as quickly as possible by their forehead and reach the other end of the room. They must return to where they started by repeating the process. The first person to reach the starting point wins!

Lucky Wheel Spin Winners

It is traditional and mandatory to spin the wheel and declare two lucky winners for the month. This time they were:

  1. Hitesh A.
  2. Phoosa R.

What can you take away from here?

“Team building” in its traditional sense is the stepping stone to the elementary work that we do together at work. It is when a group of individuals is tasked together with completing a group scavenger hunt, using the muse to find the right building block, and solving the puzzle that aligns with their individual and organizational perspective.

Team building activities are a great way to improve communication, collaboration, and teamwork among team members. We tailor the team-building activities to the needs and preferences of our teams across all levels. For this, we choose activities that are engaging, and fun, and promote teamwork and communication.

Our little effort builds a sense of trust amongst teammates and brings the full power of their skills, personalities, and who they are to work. It reminds people that work is never just about them, it is about the entire group. When they are encouraged to do something together it amplifies their confidence and makes them overly competitive, making the entire group even more productive. Cheers!
