Background

Introduce your business and what you do there.

We’re a consulting and service provider in the animal health industry, specifically for veterinarians. I’m the owner and president of the company.

Opportunity/Challenge

What challenge were you trying to address with Konstant Infosolutions?

They putting together a proprietary platform for us to better service our veterinarians.

Solution

What was the scope of their involvement?

The final platform offers about 18–20 services, including a payment module. We provide digital, protocol, and HR services for veterinarians, which they can access through this platform. Our goal is to free up their time, so they can spend it doctoring. We’re aiming to free up their staff time and provide them with savings on various services they need to run their business. Through our app and services, they can cut down on the time and effort they used to put toward purchasing, procurement, inventory, and more. The final app is web-based. Their team was responsible for putting together wireframes based on my concept. Knowing that my vision could be accomplished, I provided them with a visual of what I wanted. They developed the product based on that. After getting our feedback on their wireframes, they would transform them into actual designs.

What was the team composition?

I have a dedicated contact who I deal with most regularly. Depending on which part of the project they’re working on, I collaborate with as many as 4–5 developers from their side.

How did you come to work with Konstant Infosolutions?

We found them and 10–12 other service providers through online searches. Our team slowly whittled down our options based on their skills and capabilities. When we made our final decision, there were likely about 4–5 firms in contention. They definitely weren’t the cheapest option but had experience doing a similar project for another organization in the health world. My level of confidence in their team was higher than it was with other potential providers.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent $160,000–$170,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with them from March–December 2020. Since December, however, we’ve been in contact for ongoing work on the platform.

Results & Feedback

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I’ve enjoyed working with them, and it looks like their work is thorough. They’ve been clear on the best ways to pursue our vision while being honest about what we can and can’t achieve. Moving forward, we’re going to be joined at the hip to make this business work. They’ll be our trusted vendor for all things technical. At this point, the true results of the platform are undetermined. We couldn’t start our business until this platform was complete, so we haven’t truly used the system yet. We’ll see the results once we build up a sales force and launch our business.

How did Konstant Infosolutions perform from a project management standpoint?

They moved through the project in a timely fashion, working to hurry up a job I needed faster than given estimates. In the end, most of the hold-up was on my end. They’re very thorough, so it can take a little longer than I’d like to complete some tasks. However, they’re the design experts and know how best to deliver these products. For the most part, they’re very timely. They’ve been very close in accuracy to meeting all of their timeline estimates. There were times we make suggestions that caused slight delays, but they kept the project pretty much in line with their timelines. We had weekly phone calls, and they were always quick to respond to us.

What did you find most impressive about them?

My main contact has great command of the English language. We’ve been warned by other companies that we may have to overcome a language barrier in our collaboration. While we’ve had to make sure we communicated directions and requirements clearly, their ability to communicate effectively has been very helpful. That was a huge question mark I had starting the project, and I was impressed with them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I’m not a very technical person, but I’ve had no qualms at all about the work they performed.
